Who we are

Built on Engineering. Driven by Compliance.

Since 2009, Locus Fire & Security India Private Limited has engineered life-safety systems trusted by India's leading corporations, public institutions, and industrial operators — designed to perform when it matters most.

Our Story

Established in 2009 by a team of fire safety engineers with backgrounds in oil & gas and critical infrastructure, Locus Fire & Security was founded on a clear conviction: that life-safety systems must be engineered to perform, not merely to comply. In an industry where installations are frequently designed around inspection checklists rather than genuine risk mitigation, we set out to raise the standard of practice across every project we undertake.

Our portfolio today encompasses over 200 completed installations across India — spanning high-rise commercial developments, heavy industrial facilities, critical government infrastructure, and large-scale integrated security deployments. Every engagement follows a structured methodology: formal hazard and risk assessment, system design, supply, installation, commissioning, and independent third-party certification. We do not subcontract our engineering. Every system delivered under our scope is designed, installed, and commissioned by our own qualified engineers — professionals who carry direct accountability for the performance of what they build. Our clients, among them some of India's most recognised corporations, public sector undertakings, and industrial conglomerates, continue to engage us across multiple facilities and successive project phases — a testament not to our proposals, but to the sustained reliability of our systems in operation.

How we work

Our Principles

Engineering first

Every system is designed by qualified fire safety engineers, not sales teams. We size, select, and specify based on hazard analysis — not catalogue defaults.

No shortcuts on compliance

We design to the standard, not around it. If a project requires a more expensive solution to meet code, we say so upfront — and we document why.

Accountable after handover

Our AMC division maintains what we install. We don't disappear after commissioning. If a system we designed fails an inspection, we fix it.

Transparent documentation

Every project is handed over with full as-built drawings, commissioning records, test certificates, and compliance reports — ready for TAC, NBC, or insurance audit.

Standards & compliance

Certifications & Standards

Every system we design is benchmarked against the applicable Indian and international standards for its occupancy type and hazard class. Below are the primary codes we work to.

NBC 2016

National Building Code of India

Bureau of Indian Standards

Part 4 — Fire & Life Safety. All detection and suppression designs comply with NBC 2016 Part 4 requirements for occupancy type, hazard classification, and system selection.

BIS IS 2189

Selection, Installation & Maintenance of Automatic Fire Detection

Bureau of Indian Standards

Governs the design, installation, and commissioning of automatic fire detection and alarm systems in India. All FAS installations are certified to IS 2189.

NFPA 13

Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems

National Fire Protection Association (USA)

Applied to sprinkler system design for commercial and industrial occupancies where NBC references NFPA standards or where client specifications require NFPA compliance.

NFPA 2001

Standard on Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems

National Fire Protection Association (USA)

Governs the design and installation of gaseous suppression systems using FM-200, Novec 1230, CO₂, and inert gas agents.

OISD-117

Fire Protection Facilities for Petroleum Depots & Terminals

Oil Industry Safety Directorate

Mandatory standard for fire protection at petroleum storage and handling facilities. Applied to all fuel terminal and refinery projects.

TAC

Tariff Advisory Committee Guidelines

Insurance Regulatory & Development Authority

TAC fire protection guidelines are referenced by insurers for commercial and industrial risk assessment. Our designs meet TAC requirements to support client insurance compliance.
